I think it turned out to be troubling, consider the rate at which deepfakes are appearing. On May 25 2023, Reuters reported this: "Microsoft President Brad Smith said Thursday that his biggest concern around artificial intelligence was deep fakes, realistic looking but false content." Not concerned enough to do anything to prevent it, though.
On March 13, 2023 it was reported that Microsoft laid off their entire "ethical AI team."
If I take that at face value, it sounds troubling. On the other hand it was awfully close to
April Fool's Day or a sick oxymoronic joke. What do you think? (Bob Mullen)
